Default looking for OWA app

I'm looking for an Outlook e-mail WEB ACCESS application.

I cannot use corporate sync. (I'm a contractor and I'm not supposed to sync my phone via the exchange server. They caught one of my fellow contractors and they sent the "wipe this phone" signal and he lost much more than his work email)

I am unable to get corporate sync working using the outlook web server, despite this being possible for others. I tried the native Droid "add account" vai corporate sync, and the Touchdown app, and every combination of settings/config for both and it just can't get it to take. I've searched on this many times and tried all the suggestions (short of attempting to install certificates from my PC via an SD card, but this is out of my league).

I don't need to fully sync my entire inbox, or even contacts, calendar, etc... I just want to be informed I have a new email, read it, and occasionally send brief replies. I don't need any functionality in regards to attachments. If you try using regular OWA via a mobile browser, it is frustrating to the point of being futile. (OWA on a PC in a non-IE browser is painful enough)

If anyone has found a decent email app that works CONNECTING TO AN OUTLOOK OWA SERVER with just login/password and no certificate games, please share.

(I just tried "Galaxy" from the Android market, it was junk and complained about certificates)

I don't want to turn this into another "how to corporate sync via OWA" thread. Pretend that is impossible, as I think my IT overlords have made it so.

thank you.

Think simple and do not make it so hard. Ps outlook is a thing of the past it is toast. you don't need it just extra crap. and do not use the gmail app there is another one just called Email on your phone use that one it does work just think Simple.

That's all well and good for hotmail, gmail, etc. but someday you'll have a job and understand that most businesses use something called Exchange to support their internal email. I'll be sure to pass along the news to Microsoft that Outlook is a "thing of the past", their 300 million business Outlook users are probably going to be surprised by that. Thank you for insightful response which doesn't help me one iota.

Lets not get upset boys. I've been in the corporate world for any years and I've always thought Outlook / Exchange sucked. It's so easy to use the google apps and gmail that I can't imagine running my business on anything else now. But to each his own. Just be nice.

Default Mabe this will work for you

this guy posted this -----> I remain baffled that we can have a device so advanced as the Droid in our hands...yet Google has yet to release an easy way for us to sync our Microsoft Outlook contacts... o.O

I am in NO way affiliated with this guy, but I think I've found the best/easiest way for those of us that rely on Outlook for our contacts and calendars to stay in sync. Checkout gSyncit.

Yes, it's $15. But for that price, you get an integrated solution to Microsoft Outlook that will sync your contacts and calendar to you gmail account. So even if you don't have a gmail account for your email...setup a dummy account and set gSyncit to sync your contacts/calendar to it. Then just setup your Android device to sync with the same account. In the end, you basically end up with a free push system that will always keep your desktop and Android device wirelessly synced.

There are several other free sync solutions out there...but I've found most of them to be rather abysmal in their consistency and usability. In addition, gSyncit will sync contact pictures.

this other guy posted this hope it helps -----> gSyncit vs Companion Link Just downloaded the trial version of Companion Link and it managed to capture ALL contact information, contact pictures and ALL categories. For all the positives, the big difference is the cost. gSyncit and $15 and Companion at $40.

Companion synced everything I wanted to, but will be for a price in the future. Great software, just wish I hadn't blown $15 on gSyncit. Live and learn and will hope this helps anyone looking for a solution that isn't free.
